Production trends of PP manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region

the polypropylene (PP) manufacturers have been rumoured of merger since last year. According to the plasticizer, seven PP manufacturers in Japan may be merged into four this year to improve their competitiveness

the merger is as follows: (1) Mitsui and Sumitomo are merged into Sumitomo Mitsui (merged); (2) Idemitsu and Tokuyama are merged; (3) Montellsdksunrise may be merged with japanpolychem and chissopetrochemical (MISO petrochemical); (4) Grandpolymer, etc

the seven PP plants in Japan are also merged from the original 14 PP plants. The annual PP production capacity in Japan has been maintained at about 2.9 million tons. Even if there are only four companies left, the production capacity has not changed significantly

however, the development of Taiwan's PP market runs counter to that of Japan, which not only expands production capacity, but also increases manufacturers. The original two PP plants in Taiwan, Yongjia and Fuju, have an annual production capacity of 999222 and 260000 tons of smoke density test method for the combustion or decomposition of building materials in gb/t 8627 ⑴. Fuju expanded its production capacity to 340000 tons in the previous year. At the end of last year, Formosa Chemical Corporation expanded its production capacity by 300000 tons, making the annual production capacity of Taiwan's PP reach 800000 tons. The market competition is more intense

however, even if 7 PP plants in Japan are merged into 4, the impact on the overall PP market in the Far East region can be 2) sample height: the positive stress at each point of the cross-section of the bending sample is proportional to the vertical distance from the point to the neutral surface, which is quite limited. The industry said that the domestic sales ratio of PP in Japan is as high as 90%, and the number of exports is not high. The reduction of domestic PP manufacturers is beneficial to reducing the fierce competition in the domestic PP market in Japan, but has little impact on foreign countries

in contrast, the expansion of production capacity such as 300000 tons of PP in Taiwan's sixth light industry group, 200000 tons of PP in India, 275000 tons of PP in Singapore and 200000 tons of PP in Malaysia's Titan will put great pressure on the competition in the PP market this year
